Human AGP
Also known as α-1-acid glycoprotein, AGP1, orosomucoid, ORM
Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (AGP), also known as orosomucoid-1, is an acute phase protein primarily found in plasma after being made in the liver. Recently, other tissues and cells have been described as AGP producers including adipose tissue, the nervous system, endothelial cells, and various immune cells during inflammatory conditions. AGP is commonly described as a transport protein in plasma and is known to bind a wide range of molecules in circulation.
